Procore Keeps Your Project Data Safe and Confidential

  • Procore Servers Are Housed In State-of-the-Art Secure Data Centers
  • Data Is Constantly Archived To Multiple Back-ups
  • Procore's Security Exceeds That of Internally Hosted Applications
  • Superior Uptime and Speed Compared To Internal Networks

Safer Data and Hardware

Procore’s data is more secure than nearly all “in-house” systems due to the separation of physical and data security. Old-fashioned client-server applications do not provide this level of security.

Better Connectivity

Procore’s servers have superior Internet connectivity and emergency power supplies. Our data centers have redundant connections to the Internet provided via multiple backbone links.

Air-Tight Physical Security

Procore's hosting facilities are built to survive disasters. Concrete construction, biometric security controls, and on-site security personnel exceed most companies' safety measures.

High Value Security At a Lower Cost

Using Procore may reduce your company’s costs to deliver construction project management software service, while delivering a higher level of security that eliminates technology management headaches.

Detail: Security of Procore Construction Project Management Software

Better Security Than Internally Delivered Applications

Procore’s construction project management software is delivered to users via the Internet, requiring only a browser running on an Internet-enabled device. Procore is accessed via multiple servers, special-purpose computers designed to quickly deliver web pages and project data. Procore’s servers are located in professionally managed data centers located throughout the US. The data centers and servers are not located near Procore’s business offices. Procore staff controls access to client data and the Procore software via online commands; data center employees do not have the ability to access the data kept on Procore’s servers.

Separate Physical and Data Security

Remote hosting separates the physical security of Procore’s construction project management software servers from the data security. Data center personnel focus on managing power, Internet connectivity, and hardware maintenance. Data security, including access to Procore customer information, is controlled by Procore’s technology staff.

Key Procore Security Benefits:

Safer data and hardware – Procore’s construction software data is more secure than nearly all “in-house” systems due to the separation of physical and data security. For example, a disgruntled employee could not bring down Procore’s system by disconnecting a single machine – servers are located in multiple areas of the US. Client-server applications, which rely on using a customer’s internal network and equipment, do not provide this level of security.

Better connectivity and power supply – Procore’s servers have superior Internet connectivity and emergency power supplies. All data centers have redundant connections to the Internet provided via multiple backbone links. Power supplies to data centers are of a higher standard than most office buildings, and are supplemented by high capacity generators with fuel reserves on site. This level of redundancy is rarely found on a company’s internal network used to deliver client-server or self-hosted applications.

More comprehensive physical security – Hosting facilities used by Procore construction project management software are purpose-built to survive natural and man-made disasters. Solid concrete construction, fire suppression systems, biometric security controls, surveillance camera systems, and on-site security personnel far exceed the safety measures taken by most companies in their office facilities.

Procore’s own offices have no customer data on-site, nor do our employees have the capability to physically access our servers. Unlike most internally delivered client-server applications, all online access to Procore’s servers is automatically monitored and logged. Access permissions are only provided to individuals in Procore’s Technology Department on a “need to know” basis, and login credentials are regularly changed to prevent unauthorized use.

Procore’s Systems Are Secure and Redundant

Procore backups of our construction project management software data ensure that all project data is safely archived. Procore’s construction software code is kept in multiple secure code repositories, which are remotely hosted. Software development is conducted on an infrastructure that duplicates Procore’s delivery environment, and all code changes are thoroughly tested before customer usage. In the event of a software defect, Procore can immediately “roll back” to a proven functional version.

Procore’s construction project management software database is protected by unique user ID and password login authentication. Users cannot access accounts for which they have not been granted permission. Each user’s data creation, editing and viewing permissions can be custom-configured at the project level. Procore dynamically monitors permissions during user sessions in order to ensure that only appropriate data is displayed. Procore’s database is continuously backed up every 15 minutes to a secondary database, which is copied to a separate off-site data repository every 24 hours. The third-tier backup is then duplicated to another location for a fourth level of redundancy. All backups are written to RAID disk arrays in order to improve the reliability and availability of data and to ensure that data is not affected by hardware failure.

Using Procore Is Cost Effective

Setting up an application delivery infrastructure as comprehensive and secure as Procore’s is costly. Apart from large up-front capital expenditures, there are the day-to-day operational costs for on-going maintenance and system administration. Because Procore construction project management software spreads these costs across our customer base, we are able to design, build, manage and maintain a state-of-the-art software delivery infrastructure for all of our customers at a rate that is affordable on a per-user basis.

Procore’s construction project management software customers don’t spend budget dollars on computer server hardware to deliver construction software. Using Procore construction project management software may significantly reduce your company’s construction software costs, while delivering a higher level of service that eliminates software management headaches.
